During the past years, the number of events of scientific public-speaking and oral communication has peaked. Universities, research institutions and other scientific centers are increasingly encouraging their personnel to communicate their scientific outcomes in a short and catchy format: the pitch.
Coming from the business sector, the pitch is a powerful tool for scientists. It is short, it is dynamic and it is adaptive to almost any audience. It also allows the communication of complex scientific knowledge into catchy and simple messages that can be used in a wide range of contexts.
The workshop covers a theoretical explanation about the basics of oral communication. It also provides a hands-on practice and presentation of participants’ own research. Overall, they will gain basic knowledge, tricks and resources to prepare and present a scientific pitch.
