In agreement with the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018, from 5th December 2018, of Personal Data Protection and Digital Rights Management (henceforth LOPD), as well as the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27th April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, henceforth GDPR), Scientists Dating Forum (henceforth SciDF) inform the users of their Privacy And Data Protection Policy, so users can freely decide if they will to facilitate the personal data that might be required to in the subscription or the access to services offered. Except in the fields where otherwise is stated, answering questions about personal data is voluntary. SciDF reserves the right to modify the present policy to adapt it to legal changes and requirements and jurisprudence, as well as practices in the industry, always taking into account the legitimate interests of the consumer or user. Some services provided in SciDF’s website might include particular conditions with specific provisions regarding the matter of personal data protection.
1. Object of the collection and automatic treatment of the personal data
As responsible of the treatment, SciDF inform the user that the collection and automatic treatment of the personal data required has the object of:
a) Emitting informative communications. These communications will be emitted by SciDF and related to their activities, programs or services, or those of their partners or suppliers with whom a promotion agreement has been reached. In this case, third parties are never going to have access to the personal data.
b) Managing inscriptions to activities led by SciDF or their partners or suppliers with whom a collaboration agreement has been reached.
c) Performing statistical studies.
d) Processing commissions, requests or any kind of petition made by the user through any of the forms of contact available, with the aim of increasing and improving the services offered.
2. Obligatory or facultative character of the information facilitated by the user
Through the consent obtained by any electronic or physical mean, the user expressly, freely and unequivocally accepts that the provided data are necessary to meet the request, by the lender, being voluntary the inclusion of data in the remaining fields. The user guarantees that the personal data provided to SciDF are truthful and assumes responsibility for communicating any modification thereof. Likewise, the user guarantees being over 14 years old and having the legal capacity and ability to act in order to hire the services offered by SciDF according to the applicable regulation.
In the event that the user facilitate personal data of third parties, SciDF cannot take responsibility of the conformance with the principals of information and consent, therefore the user will be expected to guarantee SciDF to have previously informed the third party and obtained their explicit consent to communicate their data to SciDF. To that end, the user must inform them of the present Privacy And Data Protection Policy and obtain the explicit consent for the treatment of the data by SciDF. The user will respond in front of SciDF and will indemnify SciDF from any non-compliance that may incur because of that.
SciDF inform and expressly guarantee users that their personal data will not be transferred in any case to third parties, and that whenever a transfer of personal data may occur express, informed and unequivocal consent by the user will be previously requested. All data requested through the website are mandatory, since they are necessary for the provision of an optimal service to the user. In the event that all data is not provided, the information and services provided are not guaranteed to be fully adapted to your needs.
Notwithstanding what has been stated in the previous paragraph, the user consents to their personal data and information being used when required by the public administrations, Agencia Tributaria, tribunals and competent administrative authorities or court order; as well as, in general, natural or legal persons when the mentioned data are necessary to offer a correct and better service or due to legal requirement.
3. Confidentiality in the automatic treatment of the personal data of the users
The personal data collected by any electronic or physical, present or future, means will be treated secretly and confidentially. The personal data collected will be treated automatically and added to the corresponding registries of activities of automatic treatment whose ownership and responsibility lies with SciDF. SciDF will provide the users with the adequate technical resources, before the facilitation of personal data, to access this Privacy And Data Protection Policy regarding personal data or any other relevant information, so that the user can consent in order for SciDF to perform the automatic treatment of the personal data of the users. The acceptance of the user to the treatment of their data can always be withdrawn without retroactive effects.
4. Criteria of conservation of personal data
SciDF will treat the user personal data as long as there is a mutual interest to maintain the objective of said treatment and when the data are no longer required to that end, they will be deleted with the adequate security measures to guarantee the pseudonymization or total destruction of the data.
5. Rights that assist the user regarding their personal data
The user is granted and will be able to exercise the right of access, rectification, erasure, opposition, portability and limitation of their data:
a) Access: Consulting their data included in the files.
b) Rectification: Modifying their personal data when they are inaccurate.
c) Erasure: Requiring the elimination of their personal data.
d) Opposition: Requiring that their personal data not be treated.
e) Portability: Receiving, in electronic format, their personal data facilitated to SciDF, as well and transferring them to a different entity.
f) Limitation: Requiring the limitation of the treatment of their data:
- When the inaccuracy of the data is verified.
- When the treatment is illicit and the user opposes it.
- When SciDF do not need treating the user data, but the user need them to exercise their defense or claims.
- When the user opposed the treatment of their data to fulfil a mission of public interest or to satisfy a legitimate interest, while it is verified if the legitimate reason for the treatment prevail over the user’s.
Likewise, at any moment the user can withdraw their consent, without this affecting the legality of the treatment of their data previously performed, by sending a requirement to email@example.com with the subject ‘Withdraw consent’. In order to exercise their right and withdraw consent, the user must send a letter or an e-mail attaching a copy of their ID or a document that proves their identity to the following address: Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta 37-49, 08003, Barcelona (Spain) or firstname.lastname@example.org.

6. Security measures and control of the user’s own personal data
In agreement with what is stated in the current regulation of personal data protection, SciDF is complies with all the dispositions of the GDPR for the treatment of the personal data and their responsibility, and manifestly with the principles described in Article 5 of GDPR, by which data are processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject and adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed.
SciDF guarantee that the levels of security of personal data protection legally required have been adopted and that all the adequate means and technical and organizational measures have been implemented to avoid the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access and theft of the facilitated personal data in accordance with the current regulation with the objective to protect the rights and freedoms of the user. Notwithstanding, the user must be aware that the security measures on the Internet are not inexpugnable.
