Thursday is the new Friday! During the week you haven’t had the opportunity to go for drinks with your colleagues, network and refresh your mind with some comedy. SciDF thought about you and prepared a SciDF4Fun event which combines all of the above!
Meet your entertainers for the night:
Dr. Matthew Murtha is a molecular biologist and postdoc at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute. He enjoys studying the genomic dysregulation that occurs in glioblastoma and autism when not performing comedy. He hosts a weekly radio show in Barcelona and has performed stand up across Europe.
Marnie Manning is a rising comedienne from the United States armed with acerbic wit. She’s a self-described “privileged pot head with minimal ambition and a complete disdain for science”. She performs regularly in Barcelona and previously hosted shows in the States. She also hosts a weekly show on Barcelona City FM.
Òscar Aznar Alemany is a doctor in Environmental Chemistry and a translator who loves learning and communicating. He researches marine pollution at IDAEA-CSIC and turns some of his studies into shows. He also edits an online chemistry dictionary with TERMCAT. After work you may find him in his blog and one night a month you may also call her Lana Vuli.
If you’re attending any of the several major scientific events taking place in Barcelona this week, don’t miss this unique social event, which we prepared especially for you.
Register for the event here. Entrance fee is 5 €, with one beer included.
